Another banner week for food:

Adega Restaurant Wine Bar, 418 Rivet St, New Bedford, MA
Absolutely fabulous Portugese food: Linguica and Picadinho! Unbelievable; best food of the year so far...

Dominick's. Finally visited the most famous Italian restaurant in the Bronx's famed Arthur Avenue Italian food district. Hit or miss, but worth the going. Lasagna and stuffed shells were best. A Bronx local suggested that Ricardo's (around the corner) is better.

Pumpernickels, 23 Center St, Fairhaven, MA
Great local diner. Unassuming, but you just can't beat locally caught fish served with pride. Including best fish and chips ever.

El Sitio Restaurant, 6828 Roosevelt Ave, Flushing, NY
Hole in the wall Cuban joint... didn't get a chance to sample their food properly, but it was pretty good.

Landmarc Restaurant, 179 W Broadway, New York, NY
Not original, but quite enjoyable. Affordable fine dining food. Cheap wine list. Had great beef and salmon carpaccios.

had an excellent week for food.

Basta Pasta, Union Square. Excellent Japanese-Italian food. An unlikely combination (Italian food cooked by an all-Japanese staff with a Japanese edge) sings on the fork! Not as expensive as it might be, if you don't go for three or four savory courses. I especially recommend the Shiso-Tobiko Spaghetti.

Ivo & Lulu, Soho/West Village. Service poor, ambience basic, food quite good, prices very reasonable, all in all, a nice place to take someone. Food is rich though.

Cubana Cafe, Soho. Service unbelievably warm and friendly, food excellent, prices cheap. A winner! Poblano chiles stuffed with cheese and shrimp is a must!

Moto, Williamsburg. Everyone's favorite. This was recommended to me by everyone... literally. Perfect if you live nearby. Affordable sub-fine-dining food.
